Review: I dont know what it is about this movie that keeps me watching it every few months. It's almost like I need to check on occasion to remind myself how mediocre it is. It was hard to believe that Marvel film using one of the most interesting characters from the world of comics, Galactus, can be so bland. I think one of the reasons I keep returning to this film is that I want so badly to see the incredible franchise Four live. I know it has potential; I love the characters, has an interesting collection of villains to choose from, and a comic series provides some great stories as starting material. It's just not happening, thanks to poor writing and very little creative license in the hands of director Tim Story and writers Don Payne and Mark Frost.The offs in F4 franchise facing some of the same problems as the first film, while adding some new issues on. The story is a high capacity: Reed Richards and Susan Storms wedding is postponed (again) when the World gets a tour of Silver Surfer, the herald of Galactus. Problems arise when Victor von doom returns with his own plans. Just write that synopsis made me want to watch the film again; looks like a great base for F4 film. My issues started with the fact that we wasted the first 30 minutes of the film preparation Reed and Sues wedding instead of getting meat Silver Surfer plot. Then, when the plot kicks into gear, were rushed through the next hour for Deus ex machina last reasonable (and may even cause some fan comic series). When the film was over, I felt like Surfer was never given the opportunity to meet screen to its full potential and I've left the other shot.Just hope hes given as in the first film, this movie suffers from some cringe worthy one-liners (again, due to some serious punishment). I know that the F4 was a bit goofier than some of the other Marvel but filmmakers need to tone down a bit. Although, I can deal with corny dialogue; what can not keep it a slap in the face of obvious product placement. I love that the filmmakers were able to work Fantasticar in the script (especially since the only view that is too cartoonish to work in the film) but shout-out to Dodge when Johnny first watch with excitement wondering Hemi! He went on a little too far.All original cast from the first film return, which is good and bad. Just as before, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis is the perfect choice for their characters and not (no pun intended) a wonderful job bringing their characters to life. Also, as in the first film, I was not satisfied with the performances of Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon. Alba is a beautiful woman and fits the example of Susan Storm, but I've never felt it was too talented actor and he's still the weak point of the series. McMahon, again, does not feel right in the role of Dr. punishment; has a hard time making insidious evil without coming across like you with performance and I just cant take him seriously. These are the features I want in a man to be ranked as one of the best Marvel villains.For then given him, Surfer is an interesting feature of this film. visual effects team did a great job and creating the iconic character and Laurence Fishburne was inspired casting choice for his voice. Galactus, unfortunately, did not receive the same treatment and we are never given a real view into the cloud God-man and his entourage. In my opinion, it was devastated but director Tim Story will open in additional film material he chose to put Galactus and film vague future could right it. After an average of two films, now we need to hope someone also from chance.Honestly, this movie will only appeal to fans of the series, however, dont expect to be wowd.
